Our Team

Sarah McDonald, MSN, FNP-C is a Family Nurse Practitioner at Progressive Neurology and Sleep Center.

She earned her Master of Science in Nursing from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia, and is board-certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.

Before becoming a nurse practitioner, Sarah served as a Navy Nurse Corps officer, providing care on the West Coast and during a deployment to Afghanistan as part of a forward surgical team.

She has carried a passion for neurology throughout her nursing career and is dedicated to helping patients achieve the highest possible quality of life with their neurologic conditions. Her clinical interests include migraine care and sleep health. She also has a strong commitment to supporting veterans and military families, drawing on her own service background to provide compassionate and informed care.

Outside of the clinic, Sarah enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband and children. As a Navy family, they love exploring all that the Hampton Roads area has to offer.
